Random Outside Cuteness

The fun thing with staying home all day Sunday was getting to play and enjoy the gorgeous spring weather in our backyard. The sun was so wonderful and the kids so happy I just had to have some play time with my camera. Enjoy!

First the kids played on the play set.

Then we all jumped on the trampoline. Both kids like to play like they died and then have me come magically wake them up. Boopy pretends she's a princess and Big Boy, well he just likes me attacking him.

A fun part of spring in our backyard is that we have a mama bird living in our planter. She's been sitting there for quite a while. Can't wait to see the babies!

While I can still manage to get a good number of pictures that I like of Big Boy, he's gotten to an age that he'd rather not have me take his picture, at least not the quantity I like to take! He's also got this thing about giving us the "Okay" sign for just about everything. I'm wondering if he was a "Fonzie" fan in a past life!

Not sure which effect I like better for this shot.

Same here - which one do you like better?

And while Big Boy tolerates my picture taking for short intervals, Boopy eats it up. She's become quite the little poser and tells me to take a picture of her. Good thing she's cute!

Family Update & Weekend Recap

Quick family update - Okay, basically an update on Papa Vaughn. We talked to him earlier today and he is officially being assigned to help at a fire. He will be shipping out to help on the "Telegraph" Mariposa/Yosemite fire. It will be nice to know he's that much closer, but we're not sure that we'll be able to get up to see him. At this point he's expected to be up there for close to 30 days, possibly to Sept 1. It sucks he won't be able to go with me and the kids on the family vacation to visit my family in Washington, but he's excited about helping and the pay is really good, so we'll make due.
This past weekend we got the chance to lay low and have some "quiet" around the house. Saturday afternoon, Big Darren & Carolyn came and watched the kids for me while I photographed a small wedding ceremony. After getting home around 3:30 it was fun and games. Sunday, due to a change of plans we simply stayed home. I didn't even get out of my pjs until mid afternoon and that was just so we could go play in the backyard. It was fabulous! I have some backyard pictures to share later, but until then here's some other fun from the weekend.

The kids LOVE their bounce balls and hop all over the house chasing each other.

While I worked on editing some pictures upstairs in my bedroom, the kids watched Monsters, Inc for the 50 millionth time. I took a brief break and gave the kids horsey rides. When I was tuckered out, Big Boy being the wonderful big brother he is, offered up rides to Boopy. They were too cute playing together. (Excuse the messy bedroom, pile of clothes to fold/hang, etc. - this is generally the room that the door gets closed when guests come over!)

Silly kiddos decided to try to go in the tunnel while riding horsey!

Once tired of horsey rides a game of bed bouncing ensued. Gotta love a good bounce or two. At least my kids are more Tiggers than Eyeores!

Beautiful Day

Oh how nice it was to have a break from the rain and enjoy a beautiful sunny day. I seriously had a bit of early spring fever. After seeing Clifford we went home to put Boopy down for a nap. Big Boy, Papa and I sat down and enjoyed watching Spider Man 3. After the movie and Boopy's nap the sun was still shining and it was warm enough to go out and enjoy the swings in the backyard. On such a gorgeous afternoon, I couldn't resist grabbing my camera and taking pictures of my favorite subjects! So without further ado, enjoy the massive amount of pictures and yes, I did take more - these are just what I was able to narrow it down to share.

Little Miss Attitude showed her stuff when Big Boy sat on the swing that she usually sits it. Her favorite word, "MINE" was screamed and she tried to push Big Boy out. A happy compromise was found when Big Boy agreed to let her sit on his lap to swing.

Just being cute!

The sky looked so neat. You can kind of make out Big Boy in the picture. He was so happy to be playing outside he was running and yelling.

A bug caught both kids attention and was quite fun to watch. Boopy being the snot that she is, kept wanting to touch and squish the bug. I tried but sad to say, the poor bug didn't make it.

Don't do it Boopy! Oh no - poor bug!

A little brotherly love before sliding down on her belly.

I taught them how to be a train down the slide. Big Boy was the engine and Boopy was the caboose. The ultimate fun for train loving kids.
