Carving Pumpkins

Although this was Boopy 2nd Halloween, it was really her first chance to enjoy carving pumpkins. And since Boopy HAS to do everything Big Boy does, I knew she would be very into pumpkin carving. I took the extra easy route this year and bought the carving kit with stickers rather then paper tracings that are hard to get them to stay on the pumpkin. Anyway, we got set up and had two very enthralled kids!

Big Boy chose a basic pumpkin face for his pumpkin and Boopy chose a Halloween kitty cat. With some help from Papa and Mama carving the pumpkins were carved. Big Boy, like last year, wasn't that keen on the gutting of the pumpkin. Boopy on the overhand had no problem getting her hand slimy and enjoyed using the scooper.
We had a wonderful Halloween night with a fun time trick-or-treating, temper tantrums, candy, a Treasure Island carnival and pooped out kids! And because I wanted to catch up on the other pictures I wanted to blog before jumping into Halloween I've run out of time tonight to load Halloween pictures. So, I'll plan on posting them tomorrow night for you all to enjoy!

Outside Playtime & Picture Overload

We had too much fun with Halloween festivities and good weather this past weekend that I, as usual, took a zillion pictures! So, I am overloading you all with my favorite pictures because I can and I think the kids are cute enough to share! So, here are some pictures from Sunday afternoon enjoying the glorious warm sunshine we were blessed with before the big crazy storm came through town Monday night.

More Pumpkin Patch Pictures!

I had an issue with the Internet and the computer as well as being tired the other night so I didn't get to load some of the pictures I wanted from our trip to the pumpkin patch. So here they are!

Family Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Grandma & Grandpa Vaughn came down to Saturday afternoon to stay the weekend and especially see Papa Vaughn since they hadn't seen him yet since he'd gotten home. We figured what a great chance to let Grandma & Grandpa enjoy some holiday festivities and go to the pumpkin patch to get Boopy a pumpkin.
So Sunday Boopy, Grandma and I took pictures for the Rice family (be sure to check them out at http://www.sunflowerphotographyanddesign.photoreflect.com/!) while the boys went exploring with the hopes to go to the train store in downtown Clovis. Unfortunately for them the store was closed, but they had a fun time hanging out together nonetheless.

I managed to have Kristen take a couple of me & Boopy. She didn't do too bad, don't you think! :)

And then of course I can't help myself but take a picture of this cute little face!

Anyhow, after pictures and a quick lunch at the kids favorite hangout, McDonald's, we were off to the pumpkin patch. To make sure we found one that wasn't picked over by school kids we opted for the nice little corner lot that gets set up yearly at Shaw & Blackstone. It always offers fun stuff like a hay maze and fun brightly colored pumpkins great for taking pictures! :) We left with a pumpkin that Big Boy helped to pick out for Boopy. We haven't carved the pumpkins yet, but be assured that when we do I will post pictures! :)

Breast Cancer Walk

Papa Vaughn has been taking advantage of whatever work the base can offer him so the opportunity to take pictures Saturday evening for an event at the base sounded fun and worth the chance to earn so extra cash. Unfortunately it turned out that he was needed all day rather than just the evening which meant he could no longer join in on the Breast Cancer Walk Saturday morning. We had already set up 2 registrants so my friend Carolyn joined us. The weather was a bit cool at the start but quickly warmed up to somewhat overcast skies and about 80 degrees. All in all it was a fun experience. It was great to see such a large turnout. We're already talking about setting up a team and getting a big group to join in next year! A huge thank you to GG Cedarholm and Jenn for their contributions to the Fresno Komen Foundation. The checks were dropped off on Saturday with many thanks!

Just a few minutes into start of the walk. Big Boy and Boopy were good riders with Boopy complaining towards the end of the walk that she wanted out of the stroller.

Happy Riders!

And no, Mama Vaughn didn't make Carolyn push the kids the entire walk!

A quick love from both kids after our walk.

Excited about a water fountain on the Fresno State campus.

Getting some time to run free!

Bucket-O-Boopy

I LOVE that Big Boy & Boopy get along and play so well together. As a mother it warms my heart in ways I never thought imaginable. Seeing them laughing together, the twinkle in their eyes as they share in the magic of whatever made them laugh, makes me grin from ear to ear and so proud to be their mama. Last night's activities aroused such emotion. Big Boy cleared all the mega blocks from the wagon and showed Boopy what fun it is to climb in. Once she was in, Big Boy filled it back up with the blocks and gave Boopy a ride!

They went around and around the living room and kitchen as if in a parade, Boopy even perfecting her "princess" wave.

Then it was Big Boy's turn in the wagon. Boopy of course, being the "Incredible" Boopy that she is, actually managed to pull Big Boy around the house without a problem!

After a couple rides for each of them it was only fair that they get a ride together and Papa Vaughn would pull them around.
