Friday Night Game Night

I love Friday nights! Not only is the work week done, but generally it's the start to spending time with the kids. Fridays are always less rushed. Dinner dishes can sit longer, perhaps even into the next day. Kids can stay up a tad longer allowing for more game of fishing, parent tackling and teeter-toter. Even though Big Boy is a crazy morning person and doesn't really let us sleep past 8 am, there's still the knowing that we don't HAVE to get up by 6:15 to make it work on time. That extra 1 or 2, even if it is broken up by Big Boy's request to play "mouse" on the computer are so so wonderful. I really truly wonder how two night people ended up with such a major morning child. Big Boy is up and ready to get on with the day between 5:30 and 6:00 every day. Sleeping in for him is sleeping until 7. Boopy on the other hand, well, we can claim her. She'll sleep in as late as you let her or until Big Boy can't stand it anymore and insists on waking her up to play. But I digress, back to our fun and silly Friday night!
Making no exception to the rule, we thoroughly enjoyed each other this evening. There was a game of Papa silly face and attack in the kitchen while Mama attempted to cook dinner. Someone wasn't too happy that big brother wanted to join in the game.

Trying to get away from the Papa!

To continue entertaining us with pre-dinner excitement, "Rock Star" Boopy decided to serenade us with her musical talent.

With a little direction from Papa, she managed to turn it down a bit.

Then after dinner there was a friendly game of "Let's Go Fish" complete with finger biting fish as Big Boy found that his fingers can make good fishing poles.

When Papa made an attempt at taking a break, he unknowingly opened up the invitation to play let's attack Papa. Poor Papa ;)

Bath time brought more games, but unfortunately no pictures. We played who can make the best beard with bubbles, attack of the sharks, who can get Mama the wettest and fun silly stuff like that. After bath it's usually story time then sleepy time. On Friday nights, however, there's always some time for teeter-tot with Mama and Papa. If there is a shortage of parental legs to play teeter-tot on, Boopy has found it's almost as much fun to play teeter-tot with her babies. Unfortunately again, I have no pictures of this as I was busy playing teeter-tot with Big Boy. One day soon we'll try to get pictures of Boopy playing teeter-tot with her babies.

After successfully wearing out the parents, Big Boy and Boopy found a book (which I'm getting a little tired of reading "Cars" to them - I'm ready to go back to Mouse Cookie or something else!) to read for story time and then it was off to have sweet dreams!
